The Second National Lockdown
9th November 2020
On Thursday the 5th of November, England entered a state of lockdown for the second time as the country battles a surge in coronavirus cases.
While the Prime Minister has insisted that the new measures would not mark a return to the “full-scale” shutdown seen in the spring – the general message has remained the same; stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.
Similar to the first lockdown, a small handful of ‘essential stores’ are allowed to stay open, including supermarkets, pharmacies and garden centres. Most cafés and restaurants will be allowed to trade, but only through takeaway and delivery services.
Garden Square
For customers to shop at our essential retailers, Garden Square will remain open throughout the lockdown. Click and collect services will also be available from select non-essential retailers, as well as takeaway services at our various food and drink venues.

Wildwood will offer their full menu – plus some festive additions throughout November. Bookings for December also remain open and you can still make reservations via their website.
Finally, a click and collect / drop and go service will operate at:

CeX
CeX’s store will be open on reduced hours for you to trade using their Drop & Go service. Simply visit their website and start online – select whatever you want to sell and drop it into their store! In line with Government guidelines, browsing and purchasing goods in person will not be permitted.

The well-being of our customers and staff is of the utmost importance. We understand the severity of the crisis, therefore, have gone above and beyond the proposed government guidelines to make Garden Square Shopping Centre a safe environment to shop and work. When you visit during lockdown, please work with us to keep you, your family, your fellow shoppers and our wonderful staff safe by following our safety guidelines. Please respect social distancing and refrain from visiting if you show any symptoms of the virus.
