Mother’s Day Craft Workshop
14th March 2018
On Sunday 11th March we celebrated Mother’s Day in the UK. It was a time for hardworking mums up and down the country to take a break and for us to thank them for their love and support.
Ahead of this special day, Garden Square invited children to get crafty at their Mother’s Day themed craft workshop!
During the free-to-attend workshop, little ones designed and decorated tea towels which could then be taken home to give to mum.
This fun event, hosted by Crafty Crew, gave them the opportunity to try their hand at creative techniques, using specialist and high-quality paints and accessories. All materials were provided and supervisors gave help and guidance.
Getting Crafty at Garden Square
It was wonderful to see lots of happy families turning out to get crafty! All the tables at the workshop were filled, with approximately 200 children taking part in the activities.
Tots produced some colourful creations and the event proved to be a great opportunity for the ‘grown ups’ to spend quality time with them.
A Big Success!
Overall the event was a big success, with all feedback forms given out on the day unanimous in their positive comments. Some comments included:
“We loved every minute of it!”
“Loved. Loved. Loved it! Thank you so much.”
“Thank you for another fabulous event.”
The other important indicator of success was an increase in footfall to the shopping centre. Compared to the previous Saturday, footfall increased by a whopping 50%! It was also up by 13% from the same time in 2017.
On social media, the event promotion organically reached nearly 11,000 people, with an engagement rate of 5%.
“Our Mother’s Day themed craft workshop event was a great success and gave children the chance to demonstrate their creative talents. There were some beautiful tea towels produced on the day and we’re sure there were plenty of happy mums receiving them as gifts the following day.”Jack Philbin, Garden Square’s Centre Manager
