Costa’s Christmas Cups

The Nation’s Favourite Coffee Shop, Costa Coffee, has revealed its hotly anticipated Christmas takeaway cups for 2018 to kick off the festive period.

The new and recyclable designs are available in stores nationwide from Thursday 1st November and feature five loveable characters in modern, festive colours, which are sure to bring the Christmas cheer to coffee breaks.

Playful Characters

This year’s cups feature four striking hues – teal, bronze, purple and the famous Costa Coffee red.

Inspired by mystical snow globes; the playful characters of a snowman, penguin, gingerbread man, Rudolph the Reindeer and of course Santa Claus are captured in a snowy bauble design celebrating the most wonderful time of the year.

The release of the Costa Coffee Christmas cups has snowballed over the years to become synonymous with the start of the festive season.

Cup mania takes over the country every October, with customers desperate to get their hands on each year’s limited-edition cups and share images on social media.

Returning Favourites and New Additions

Costa recently teased its Christmas menu with the release of the Black Forest Hot Chocolate, Gingerbread & Cream Latte and Gingerbread & Cream Hot Chocolate – just some of the returning favourites which will be joined by the wider limited-edition menu in stores on Thursday.

This will include exciting new creations such as the Hazelnut Praline & Cream Latte and Caramelised Orange & Cream Hot Chocolate.

Costa’s festive cups were introduced for the first time in 2013, with each cup size dressed up as a different Christmas character – an elf, gingerbread man, snowman and Santa.

This theme continued for two more years before the introduction of the adorable Christmas Jumper cups in 2016, with cups wearing Fair Isle designs.

In 2017 the cup designs took a different direction as the festive faces were illustrated as colourful baubles. This year, the characters continue with the addition of a cute penguin and favourite Christmas personality, Rudolph the Reindeer.
