Jacqueline Wilson’s Little Stars

4th November 2015

An extremely well-known and hugely popular author. The Illustrated Mum was chosen as British Children’s Book of the Year in 1999 and was winner of the Guardian Children’s Fiction Award 2000.

Jacqueline Wilson has won the prestigious Smarties Prize and the Children’s Book Award for Double Act, which was also highly commended for the Carnegie Medal. In June 2002 she was given an OBE for services to literacy in schools and in 2008 she was made a Dame.

Hetty Feather

Feisty redhead Hetty Feather is one of Dame Jacqueline Wilson’s most well-loved characters; kind-hearted but adventurous she often unintentionally lands herself in trouble while trying to make a better life for herself and her friends. The first Hetty Feather book was voted into WH Smith’s top 20 books for children under 11. Now Jacqueline is releasing the fifth in the series – Little Stars.

Little Stars

Little Stars marks a new start for Hetty and her friend Diamond after they successfully run away from Tanglefield’s Travelling Circus. The pair manage to get work as little stars of Mrs Ruby’s musical show, but it soon becomes clear that the show isn’t the safest place to be and Hetty must use her strength and wit to look after them both and keep their dream of becoming stars alive.

WH Smith couldn’t wait to find out more about what’s next for Hetty and friends, and so caught up with Jacqueline Wilson to find out more about the fifth book in the series from the lady herself. Watch Jacqueline introduce Little Stars in the below video:
