Haunting High Jinks this Halloween

16th October 2019

Halloween has grown in popularity in the UK, with consumers spending over £400million on the creepy celebration in 2018. In fact, fright night is now the second biggest party after New Year’s Eve.

Costumes based on It Chapter 2, Joker, zombies and Mexican Day of the Dead are set to be popular dress up options this year, with many spooky spectacles expected on the streets of Letchworth over the next few weeks! And with plenty of ghoulish goodies in Garden Square Shopping Centre’s stores, there’s no shortage of ways to put the frighteners on friends and family.

Crafty Capers

To ensure everyone has one hell of a Halloween, Garden Square is inviting shoppers to enjoy some freaky frolics and ghostly goings on at the centre during half term.

On Thursday 31st October from 10am to 3pm, there will be a FREE Spooky Lantern Craft Workshop in the Square where children over the age of 3 can devilishly decorate their own lantern to take home and keep. All materials will be provided and guidance will also be on hand from trained supervisors.

What’s more, if attendees at the event upload a picture of their spooktacular lantern to Garden Square’s Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages, they’ve got the chance to win a spell-binding £50!

Jack Philbin, Garden Square’s Centre Manager, says: “We always receive great feedback about our crafting events at Garden Square. They provide the ideal opportunity for families to spend time together and for children to demonstrate their creative talents. Our Halloween workshop is the last chance this year for little monsters to produce some wicked creations – so don’t miss out! We look forward to hosting more events and spectacular shows at Garden Square over the forthcoming months, including various events on the lead up to Christmas.”
